Honoring Craft and Community: Quarra Stone’s 4th Annual Gathering in Pietrasanta, Italy

A stone bust of a womans head with cracks is displayed outdoors on a table next to a Franco Cervietti Studio brochure and card, set against softly blurred greenery at the Annual Gathering in Pietrasanta, Italy.

Each year, Quarra Stone hosts a special gathering in Pietrasanta, Italy—a city steeped in marble tradition and creative legacy. This summer marked the 4th edition of that gathering, and the largest turnout to date. It was a heartfelt celebration of stone, artistry, and the enduring relationships that continue to shape our work around the globe.

A City Built on Stone and Legacy

Pietrasanta has long been a haven for sculptors, artisans, and architects. Nestled between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea, it’s a place where art, architecture, and stone converge—making it the ideal setting for this annual tradition. It is also home to Quarra Italia: Franco Cervietti Studio, a vital extension of Quarra’s presence in Europe and a cornerstone of our fine art and sculpture collaborations.

A Private Look Inside Cervietti by Quarra

The gathering began with a rare opportunity: a private studio tour at Cervietti by Quarra, where tradition meets technology. Across four intimate group visits, just over a dozen guests stepped inside a space rich with history—surrounded by works-in-progress, antique sculptures, and the hum of tools still used to carve beauty from raw stone.

This behind-the-scenes experience provided guests with a close-up look at the artistry and care that goes into every piece produced by the studio. They explored the legacy of Italian craftsmanship that runs deep through every carving and learned how contemporary design harmonizes with centuries-old techniques to serve modern architecture and public art.

A Night to Remember at Hotel Paradis

Following the studio tour, the evening transitioned to an elegant celebration at Hotel Paradis Pietrasanta, where guests gathered for food, wine, and conversation under the Tuscan sky. Known for its artistic spirit and stunning design, Hotel Paradis has become a beloved host of this annual event—and this year’s hospitality was nothing short of spectacular.

Guests enjoyed thoughtfully prepared cuisine, perfectly paired wines, and a setting that encouraged both reconnection and new inspiration. As the evening unfolded, it became clear that this gathering had become more than an event—it was a growing tradition, one that connects the past, present, and future of architectural stonework.

“We come here each year to reconnect with the people who make our work possible,” said Lauren Pomaranski of Quarra Stone. “It’s a celebration not just of what we build, but of who we build it with—our collaborators, our artists, and our friends around the world.”

Looking Ahead

As Quarra’s influence and community continue to grow, so too does the gathering. This year’s turnout was the largest yet, a reflection of both expanded invitations and an increasing desire for shared creative space. Plans are already in motion for next year’s event—and while the venue may grow, the essence will remain the same: connection, craftsmanship, and a shared passion for stone.

We extend our deepest thanks to all who joined us—especially the team at Hotel Paradis Pietrasanta, whose hospitality made the evening unforgettable. Grazie mille for your support, your partnership, and your presence.

Until next year—alla prossima.
