Marianna Paradiso | Scheduler

Marianna Paradiso, Scheduler, celebrating 3 years at Quarra Stone Company.

Three years into her time at Quarra, Marianna Paradiso has developed a new way of looking at the world around her. As a Scheduler, she’s known for being organized, precise, and deliberate in her work—but she’s also developed a genuine curiosity about the materials and artwork that surround her every day.

Marianna says it’s difficult to choose just one project or material that stands out. She’s had the opportunity to contribute to work with renowned artists and architects but often finds herself most fascinated by the small details on the shop floor. Natural stone is full of them: fossils preserved in Jura Limestone and Phenix Marble, shimmering silver threads in Vals Quartzite, and the bright blue crystals found in Lemurian Blue. Since joining Quarra, she’s started looking at sculptures differently, noticing the stone and wondering about the story behind the work.

That same thoughtfulness carries into how Marianna approaches her role. Her colleagues describe her as diligent, reliable, organized, and precise, with a practical approach that makes her a trusted collaborator. She’s also someone who isn’t afraid to challenge the people around her, often encouraging new ways of thinking and different approaches to production.

Outside of work, Marianna enjoys going to concerts and baking, but Halloween is where her creativity really shines. From crafting her own costumes to bringing holiday cheer to the shop, she has a knack for making her coworkers smile. She also appreciates the variety of people and perspectives at Quarra, as well as the fact that no two projects are exactly alike. There is always something new to learn, another material to discover, or a different challenge waiting around the corner.

Cheers to three years, Marianna — thank you for the curiosity, organization, and thoughtful perspective you bring to the Quarra team every day.

Cipriano Mendoza | Handworker

Cipriano Mendoza, Handworker, celebrating 14 years at Quarra Stone Company.

Fourteen years at Quarra is a lot of stone, a lot of projects, and a lot of time spent keeping the shop moving—and Cipriano has done it all with the same calm, steady attitude he’s known for.

A dedicated family man, Cipriano brings a great sense of humor to the shop, always ready with a joke or a laugh while staying focused on the work in front of him. His coworkers describe him as calm, dependable, and hardworking—and if you’ve ever seen him at break time, you already know he’s usually one of the first people back on the shop floor.

Over the years, Cipriano has worked with a wide range of stone and finishes, including polishing and texturing. And when he’s not at Quarra, he enjoys taking some time to rest and relax.

Cheers to 14 years, Cipriano — thank you for showing up, putting in the work, helping the team, and keeping things light along the way.

A Culture Built on People

While Quarra Stone Company is known for its craftsmanship and capability, it’s the people behind the work who truly set it apart. From the shop floor to the field, each individual contributes to a culture built on trust, skill, and shared purpose.

We’ll be back next month to celebrate the next group of anniversaries — because at Quarra, recognizing the people who show up is something we do all year long. These stories are a reminder that great work doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built over time by people who care. And at Quarra, that’s what makes all the difference.
