28th Street Penthouse

Architect: LUCE et Studio
Location: The Zaha Hadid Building, New York City, NY
Stone: Pietra Cardosa

When LUCE et Studio undertook the transformation of the apartment originally designated for Zaha Hadid, they recognized the need to reimagine the interior configuration and address the distinct curves of the fenestration. The architect, who had a longstanding relationship with Hadid and a deep admiration for her work, took on the challenge with enthusiasm.

To create a space that truly resonated with the clients, LUCE et Studio employed a rich and refined palette of materials, including oak, waxed stainless steel, and stone. Quarra Stone Company played a crucial role in this process, as they were entrusted with the task of sourcing and fabricating the stone elements for the master suite.

Pietra Cardosa, a stone known for its timeless elegance and durability, was selected as the material of choice. Quarra Stone meticulously crafted the bespoke appointments for the master suite including the fixtures that were carved from solid blocks of Pietra Cardosa. The stone fixtures, with their smooth lines and exquisite detailing, not only provide functionality but also serve as captivating focal points within the master suite.
